Minimum rates

ACTRA rates

The minimum the agreement sets for each position. On a union set these minimums apply to everyone hired under the agreement, member or not.

Hours and overtime

Independent Production Agreement (IPA) 2025–2027: 1.5x after 8h, 2x after 12h; paid in 6-minute units.

The daily fee is the minimum for a day. Overtime is worked out from the daily fee divided by 8: 150% after 8 hours worked and 200% after 12, in 6-minute units (2026 principal overtime minimum: $182.50). Background performers: 8-hour minimum call (3 hours for non-ACTRA background) and 1.5x overtime.

Meals: Meal breaks are unpaid. If production gives a 30-minute first meal instead, it is paid and counts as work time. Lunch is due within 6 hours (meal penalties after that).

Awaiting confirmation: When 2x overtime starts for background performers.
