Motion picture technicians' local for the Maritime provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

How to qualify

Member: 360 hours. At least 360 paid hours in each department you apply for, over three different productions. Non-union hours can be accepted if the Executive Board approves. Requirements vary by department.

Residency in a Maritime province for at least six months immediately before applying, shown by two of: a Maritime driver's licence, a Maritime health card, or last year's income tax filed in a Maritime province
Two letters of recommendation from Local 849 members in the department applied for, ideally Keys or Seconds you have worked with
Proof of at least 360 paid hours in each department applied for, over three different productions (hours from other jurisdictions and non-union productions count if paid and documented)

Application fee: $100 processing plus $100 first-quarter dues, then $100 a quarter.

Residency: Six months' residency in a Maritime province.

Dues: Working dues are 2%. Quarterly dues of $100 are due January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.
