Permittees work on NABET signatory productions after available members have been considered; permittee status is the route to full membership. Requirements vary by department.
- Member: $28,571.43 in earnings. Once you've paid $2,000 in permittee fees in one department, the union reviews your file. At 7%, that's about $28,571 of gross pay on NABET productions. Requirements vary by department.

- NABETiquette certificate (valid for three years; certificates issued on or after July 9, 2017 are accepted)
- Ontario Ministry of Labour Worker and Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness certificates
- Any department-specific requirements and relevant licences (e.g. transport or hair)
